This restaurant is located in the centre of Tokyo between metro stations Edogawabashi and Gokokuji. You will find it inside Chinzanso Garden, which is definitely also worth a visit. There are fireflies, singing birds, water falls, historical artifacts and wild animals.

First of all I will tell, that I do not know the specific price for the dinner because it was a present given to us. But from looking at prices of beer I would assume it is a bit pricy. One draft beer is 1,100¥.

At Mokushun-Do you will get seafood, fish, meat and vegetables fried on a lava stone from Mt. Fuji at your table by the waitress, and the food is amazing.

Opening time:

Lunch: 11:30 - 14:30(15:00 in the weekend)

Dinner: 17:00 - 20:00

In our menu we got a small starter which was very good, followed by shrimps and fish. Then pork, beef, salat and vegetables. My favourite was the pork. Properly some of the best pork I have tasted, and I am from Denmark….It was thin slices, but still very juicy and tasty. Another great part of this meal, was that there were a different sauce/dip for each dish.

I would recommend anyone who have not yet seen the garden to combine a garden walk with dinner at Mokushun-Do, maybe even a walk in the garden after the dinner to see the fireflies if it is season for that.

In Mokushun-Do you get the real Japanese service together with great authentic Japanese food of high quality.
