My name is Henrik and I was born in Denmark in 1982 where I have lived almost all my life and still go to as often as possible.
I am educated in technology management and marine engineering, which is what I am working with now. I am away for work in the middle east every second month, and have the pleasure of being on vacation the other 6 months of the year.
I first came to Japan in 2005 where I was teaching gymnastics to a private school in Tokyo. Since then I have been coming to Japan quite often and I have now ended up marrying a Japanese and living in Tokyo, Japan
I have always been fascinated by a different culture than my own, which mean I have never been satisfied by short charter holidays to tourist crowded places. I do not believe you experience the real “life” by visiting tourist populated areas for a week or two. I believe you need to stay in the country for a longer period and integrate with the locals. And the best way to start your integrate is in my opinion to learn the language. No need to speak fluently, but at least try. It shows that you are willing to make an effort.
When I came to Japan the first time my eyes opened to a whole new world of food, which has turned into one of my bigger passions. I love tasting new food, and I love eating the food I like over and over again. One of my favourites in Japan has to be Ramen, which will probably be noticeable by my reviews.
